Be Spontaneous
Live outside the box.

Throughout all our structured days, it’s good to sprinkle in spontaneity, creativity, and laughter. Sometimes we get too rigid with proper protocol, heavy agendas, and guidelines that we forget to give ourselves permission to live outside the box, generate new ways of doing things, and enjoy the people in our lives and the work we do.
Part of living is using many facets of our brain. We can use imagination, emotions, movement, intellect, and countless other elements to not only help us function in our day but also to live it to the full. If we only favor one side of our brain, we have dominance in some areas, but weaknesses in others. We need to exercise both sides so we can maximize its power that God created in us.
Whether it’s physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual, we need to exercise all these different aspects of our being. That way we can live out our lives optimally. If we take an inventory of the areas we exercise the most, we discover where we put our energy and where we need more development. By focusing on living balanced lives, we experience abundant living.
God created our complex minds and bodies for a reason. If we apply them to full capacity, we not only meet our potential, but we fulfill our purpose. He designed us specifically for this point in time, in this part of the world, to carry out His will. When we realize this unique personal mission, and live it out with the guidance of God, He blesses us abundantly and pours into the lives of those we meet.
“He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.” Exodus 35:31-33
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13-16
