Beauty of Our World

Getaways can seem magical. We explore a part of the world that we’ve never seen before, and the beauty and creativity of God amazes us. Then we indulge in the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of different cultures, regions, or locales. It almost seems like we step into another world and have yet to discover everything in our world.

The more we see different parts of the world, the more we realize the majesty of God. He created so many different trees, animals, landscapes, and oceans that it’s hard to comprehend how all these things came to be. The intricacy of details from tiny molecules to the expanse of the universe is absolutely mind-boggling. God continually astounds us with the beauty of the world, the harmony of the universe, and the interconnectedness of all living things. All of creation cries out that our God reigns.

It’s so refreshing to get away from all the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and head back to nature. Humans seem to have an innate craving for the workmanship of God that’s untarnished by humanity. It’s like our quest is continually for the Garden of Eden, or the Promised Land.

What makes all these getaways so refreshing is the essence of God. His purity, His majestic handiwork, His unmatched creativity, extraordinary intricacy, and magnificent beauty. God’s incredible provisions comfort us and He knows everything we need. He gave us this planet with just the right amount of elements for our wellbeing. We should relish in the beauty of creation and seek ways of preserving it for all future generations.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.” Psalm 19:1-2

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:7-10

“Say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns.’ The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.” Psalm 96:10-13
