Choices

Every choice that we make tells the world who we are. Whether it’s what we wear, what we eat, what we do, or what we say, all these decisions tell people a lot about our personality, our preferences, and our beliefs. We are on display for all to see.

A lot of our selections seem too minor to think about, so we just grab whatever and move on. But in actuality, it still reveals our preferences and priorities and who we are inside. We are an open book to others for all who take the time to notice.

So what does our collection of choices say about us? The closer we are to God, the more our lives will reflect Him to the world. But if we are not as close with our Savior as we think, our choices reveal our hearts. If we do a self-examination, we see the areas where we reign on the throne of our lives and when we allow God to reign.

It needs to be the goal of every Christian to deny themselves so that the Holy Spirit within us shines through in every aspect of our lives. When people read our lifestyles, our mannerisms, or our priorities, hopefully, they will see our devotion to God and a deep love of our Creator.

It is at that moment when we can live out our testimony to the world. They’ll see God working in our lives. He changes our humanness into holiness. His supernatural intervention touches everyone.

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” Galatians 5:16-17

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Mark 8:34
