Deliverance

We grow through our struggles.

When someone asks us to do an unbearable thing, we are quickly overwhelmed. The task at hand is too daunting and asks so much more than we can deliver. We fear we will fail. Our minds go blank. We are in a quandary as we search for an answer, an easier way, or something that we can handle to work our way to our end goal.

But we are not in it alone. God will see us through. If our eyes are off of Him and we don’t include Him in our struggle, then we feel alone as we try to tackle our Goliath by our own strength. However, if we lay our struggle before God, He will deliver us. He will enlighten us, give us the strength we need, imbue wisdom in our minds, and help us find a doable path that will lead us to our end goal. Then we will cross the finish line victoriously.

We grow through our struggles. When the impossible challenges us, God will give us endurance, stamina, power, and strength to persevere through any monumental task. No matter what’s demanded of us, He will equip us for the task at hand, see us through, and help us grow through it all.

When we finally get to the other side and achieve the impossible, we’ll be amazed that we made it through and see the magnitude of our growth. We’ll be full of praise for God’s abundant power, love, and deliverance. He won’t leave us desolate. We can tap into His power anytime to face the impossible, make great headway in life, and cross the finish line as an overcomer every time.

“David said to the Philistine [Goliath], ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied… All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:45, 47

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” Hebrews 12:1-2
