God's Assignment

When our jobs pile on more work, we can feel overwhelmed. We cringe at the thought of filling up our free time with more work. But if it’s part of the job duty, so we concede.

But what if God ordained the added assignment? What if the people we interact with during that appointed time will change a life?

We are ambassadors for Christ. We are the vessels of His love and His outstretched hands to the lost. Since we are His children, we should resemble our Father. With the power of God, we could connect to the one who is unreachable. We could capitalize on this new opportunity and use it as a time of ministry, growth, and relationship building.

It’s so easy to be focused on the grind that we lose sight of God’s greater plan. We relish our free time and almost get greedy for it. But when work needs to be done for the kingdom of God, we need to get off of our easy chairs and step up to the challenge.

Once we get engaged in our ordained assignment, we will see why God appointed us at such a time as this. We quickly realize that our short-sightedness underestimates God’s overall plan. Then, when we delve into it with all our hearts filled with the Holy Spirit, we think of others, reach out, touch hearts, and change lives by the power of God. Not only will we make a difference in their lives, but we will also have reassurance of God’s brilliant plan and see the glory of God.

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.” Philippians 2:14-16

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:36-38

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
