Start each day with gratitude. It’ll put us in a positive mindset that’ll kick off our day with optimism. If gratitude fills our hearts, then what comes out of our mouths will be thankfulness, sincerity, and humility. It puts things into God’s perspective and makes us appreciate the many blessings in our lives.

Whatever darkness in this world or in our lives tries to steal our joy, we must lay it before our Father of Lights. He will vanquish it and help us see the light of day and restore our joy. He is the source of joy that is eternal. It’s not based on happenstance, but on His presence in our lives. Whenever we let Him into the dark corners of our hearts, He fills it with His Light, purges the darkness from us, and heals our wounds. He restores us, refreshes us, and fills us with His joy.

We have so much to be grateful for. Our Father in Heaven loves us. Jesus paid the price for us so that we can have a personal relationship with God. He has given the Holy Spirit to us to guide us, counsel us, and lead us in His ways throughout our lives. No matter what our journey brings, the very essence of God in us is all we need to persevere, grow, and live abundantly. All the other things that we enjoy are just icing on this beautiful tier of blessings.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:15-17

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” Hebrews 12:28

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” Psalm 28:7

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.” Psalm 107:21-22

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
