Hopes and Dreams

Whenever we start something new, it can be exhausting. But we can also fill it with hopes and dreams, aspirations and expectations, new opportunities and growth. As we take on the new endeavor, there may be people we form relational bonds with because of a common cause. We have a goal, a mission, a deadline, or some kind of finishing line to cross before this temporary group dissipates and everyone goes their separate ways.

Since it is a temporal thing, why not put 100% into it and see how it turns out on the other end? Why not delve into it with sleeves rolled back and give it our all? God wants us to always be hard workers who are diligent, honest and quick to help others. As we go forth in this new endeavor, we can experience significant growth, new relationships, and new capabilities.

God will bless our efforts if we include Him. He will equip us for all the tasks we encounter, endow us with His love to build positive relationships, and empower us to go beyond our limitations. He will make this new endeavor a ministry if we just listen to His voice, heed His call, and reach out. Remember, it’s more than a new activity. It’s got potential for something much greater that may affect someone for all eternity.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14
