Precious Moments

Our time with people is precious. God created us as relational beings and we are hard-wired to connect with others. The memories that we treasure the most involve our loved ones. But as we live out each day, we are making new memories. If we seize those moments with others, it’ll become a lasting memory that we’ll treasure for a lifetime.

When we have kindred hearts with like-minded Christians, the bond is instantaneous with the communion of the Holy Spirit. When two or more gather in His name, God truly is in our midst. He enlightens us and blesses us with His presence. We walk away from such a gathering refreshed, revitalized, rejuvenated, and renewed.

However, some relationships might be negative and toxic. Usually, it’s the symptom of sin dominating the lives of one or more parties involved. In these relationships, it is so important to stay close to God. If we tap into His powerful love and grace, we can see the situation as a ministry rather than enslavement. We must pray continually, obey God, and do what is right. God can do the impossible. He can turn a negative into a positive, so do not lose hope.

That said, it is crucial that our close circle of intimate relationships is with fellow believers. As we walk through this life filled with detours, dangers, and pitfalls, it’s so important to be in the body of Christ. Our spiritual sisters and brothers support us, hold us accountable, encourage our growth in the Lord, and urge us to reach out to the lost. God gave us each other for companionship and personal growth. But our network of close friends needs to be Christians who have the wisdom of God and the unconditional love and grace of Jesus.

Then we are formidable to live out our mission. With the Holy Spirit in our hearts, a band of Christians by our side, and the armor of God on each one, we can face any battles ahead and live out our lives victoriously.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2-3
