Reach Out

Be the hands and feet of Jesus.

If we see someone struggling with difficulties in life, our hearts go out to them. We may feel a deep sense of compassion, pray for them, or reach out to them in any way we can. Others of us may not want to get involved and think that it’s none of our business. In either case, that person is in a rough patch and needs some divine intervention.

Whenever we come across someone who’s depressed or overwhelmed by events in their lives, we need to reach out. Let’s offer aid, a listening ear, emotional support, and comfort. We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus and show them the love of Christ. We need to serve them and sacrifice our precious time for them.

If we reach out, it can make all the difference for them. It can catapult them over the barrier to a new solution, a new attitude, or a new commitment to Christ. We can reassure them they don’t have to face the giant alone. We offer our friendship, our service, and our love.

When someone stands beside them, they will find new strength. When someone prays for them, they will get answers. If someone reaches out to them, they will not only be grateful, they will find some relief.

We are on this Earth for God and for others. It’s our primary mission to be ambassadors for God and ministers to the world. When we embark on our life’s journey, we need to come alongside others to help them in theirs. When they see the compassion of our God, and His unconditional love pour out from our hearts, the Holy Spirit will touch them. He will energize them, deepen their bond with us, and show us the deliverance of God.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:16-18

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
