Road Trip

Road trips can be fun, exhausting, boring, or anything in between. Whenever we take to the open highway, we have stops along the way, sites to see, and places to go. We have a destination to reach and we try to find the quickest and easiest way to get there. The thing that can make a difference in how we travel is who we go with on our journey.

If we go it alone, it can be isolating, quiet, and boring. In the same breath, it can also be a time for us to spend with God. We can use this time as a time for prayer, listen to our favorite music, and sing along with the radio. It can be our time to decompress, think out loud, and have a time of inner reflection.

But if we go with others, it can be an adventure. We can have deep conversations, memorable moments at road stops and scenic views, and an actual time of bonding. Whenever we spend time together with others, relationships solidify and memories form.

The tedious miles of highway don’t seem so bad when we are in the company of others. It’s like we’re in it together and our interactions with each other seem to make the time fly. We connect and share a time spent together that is uniquely ours, creating a lasting memory in the lives of those involved.

Life is a journey, and it can be very challenging. If we go it alone, we won’t have the support network to help us through the rough patches in our lives. But if we have God and the support of fellow Christian friends, we can live optimal lives for Him and stay on course for building His kingdom.

God wants us to go through life with Him and with others. Relationships enrich our lives and give us another dimension to our existence. They are what make our memories precious and why we are here. They revitalize us, inspire us, and motivate us to a common cause. Together, we can win battles, make a stand, and create change.

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19-20
