Social Unrest
Be peacemakers in a world of hate.

Whenever people feel like they are the victims of injustice, they protest. Emotions boil and tempers flare. Violence breaks out as they display their frustrations and pent up anger. People fight for their rights in court and on the streets. There’s so much tension and hate in the air that it has the potential to ignite social unrest, chaos, and mayhem.
But when someone pierces that darkness with the light of God, it silences the torrential downfall. The love of Jesus stops people in their tracks and moves them to tears as they witness His presence. They put down their weapons of destruction and embrace with arms of love. Peace washes over the masses as the work of Jesus permeates the land. He offers His unconditional love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness to all.
In the heat of the moment, we bicker and bite. But when God enters the equation, there is a healing power that reigns and brings everyone to their knees. His Spirit moves people and deeply touches them with His love. His miraculous intervention changes lives. It is by our submission that we make ourselves available to be peacemakers in a world filled with hate. It is His holy intercession that quiets the storms, calms the raging waters, and brings peace to the world.
Let us surrender our lives to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Let us submit to His will and reach out to the lost. Be the beacons of His light in the midst of this dark and perverse world. Let us be His ambassadors, despite whatever we’re up against, and stand firm for the gospel of peace. For by doing so, we will be the vessels of His love and promote life change for all.
“Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers! The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?” 1 Corinthians 6:5-9
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19
“When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.” Proverbs 16:7
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:30-32
